Last Sunday night Jake Hagopian continued the recent domination of Americans by winning the 2011/2012 Oval Express Formula 500 Super Series.
With 3 round victories Hagopian only needed to finish in the top 8 in the series final at Sungold Stadium to win. Finishing in 7th place was good enough to wrap up the title in only his 2nd attempt down under.
For his efforts Hagopian won himself a brand new Eagle Chassis and Panel Kit valued at $3,995 thanks to Bill Mann and Stephen Bell from Eagle Motorsports. Reigning World of Outlaws champion Jason Meyers was on hand to award his good mate Hagopian with his prize.
Hagopian’s domination was made possible by gun engine builder Bell who operates Jettco Developments. All 3 parties celebrated at the end of series presentations. Along with winning the new Eagle chassis and Panel Kit, Hagopian also took home almost $4000 worth in cash and prizes throughout the 8 round series in 10 days.
Hagopian called Matt Brown Racing home for the series with his good mate Matt Brown also picking up 3 round victories as well. Ironically Hagopian would win the series by 6 points over Brown, the same amount of feature wins Matt Brown racing would win!
