At the final round of the 2011/2012 Oval Express Formula 500 Super Series at Sungold Stadium, Warrnambool all drivers and officials in attendance were treated to a talk by reigning World of Outlaws Champion Jason Meyers.

Meyers the night before had competed at Parramatta Speedway in Sydney in the Steve Caunt owned Sprintcar and come from position 21 in the A-main to win after having a huge wreck earlier in the heat races. After tireless negotiations between the Victorian Formula 500 Assn Series co-ordinators and Steve Caunt, Meyers was a welcomed addition to the nights events.

In what lasted for almost 30 minutes Meyers talked about his racing roots, his team and how it all operates, how to talk to sponsors and race fans, his transitions from micro sprints (formula 500’s in America) to Sprintcars and also how to behave after a good or bad night around fans. Meyers had the audience glued with Oval Express Series Commentator Gavin White asking many of the questions.

Meyers was at the right event with good mate Jake Hagopian capturing his first Oval Express Formula 500 Super Series. When Meyers first got into racing he raced under the tutelage of Jakes Father Mark. Hagopian celebrated with Meyers and also gun engine builder Stephen Bell at the end of series presentations.
