F500’s Wa – Wa State Title

40 Drivers shall contest the F500’s WA State Title at Collie Speedway this Saturday the 4th of February.

Cool conditions are on the forecast for the weekend, with some rain on Thursday and Friday likely to assist in preparing a fast Collie track.

The field is filled with local stars, interstate and international visitors.

Locally the charge shall be led by Matt Brown, who continues to back up his recent interstate form with a recent win at Kwinana. Brown has consistently shown he is a big event driver, and the former national and state champion enters the weekend as the short-priced favourite.

David Sinagra continues to lead the West Coast Series, and backs up this weekend after a win in Esperance a week ago, his third feature win for the series. Sinagra continues to show in all conditions that he has the speed and track-craft to move forward.

Thomas Davies is one of WA’s rising stars. He returns from an ultra-successful debut Oval Express Series and with early season wins at Kwinana; everything is starting to gel for the young man, and he would expect nothing short of a podium result to continue his great season.

Steven Ellement returns to affirm his name as one of WA’s best young drivers. The former state champion has an enviable record in WA, and will be back to his best this weekend.

AJ Hopkins makes his return to Australia from Brownsburg Indiana to drive for the Terry Kowal owned team. The 19 year old made an impressive Australian debut last season, winning a WCS round in Bunbury, and he returns with further microsprint and midget experience under his belt, including a run at the 2012 Chili Bowl Nationals in Oklahoma.

Charlie Brown has made the trip across Australia. The current Queensland, Victorian and NSW champion has great form coming into the meeting and the east-coast powerhouse is a likely contender for weekend honours.

And so the list continues; a quality field to contest for WA’s highest honours.
