Sinclair Scores Fgbmfi.org F500 Stampede Series Round 6 Win

Dale Sinclair picked up his 2nd round win of the season last night when he won round 6 of the FGBMFI.org Formula 500 Stampede Series at Darlington’s Mid Western Speedway.
Defending Stampede champion James Aranyosi finished 2nd. Will Carroll and Mat Turner rounded out the top 4.

Sinclair was never challenged throughout the 20 lap final and took the win by over half a straight away. Aranyosi started 3rd and was lucky to finish 2nd after spinning during the feature. Shortly after spinning, the yellows came on reinstating Aranyosi back into 2nd. Carroll completed a consistent night crossing the line in 3rd after having a race long battle with Turner.

Ash Sinclair continued his strong form in the Stampede Series with a 5th place finish. Steven Horton was next in 6th with Brett Dillon, Phil Smith, Robert Trewartha and Jye O’Keeffe were next. O’Keeffe was battling Aranyosi for 2nd halfway through the race before spinning the V55. The newly crowned Victorian champion was sent to the rear of the 15 car field with just 9 to go and sped through the field to eventually finish in 10.

Shane van Duynhoven was next in 11th. He was followed by Justin Sadler, Lee Hardess and rookie Matthew Kavanagh. Tyler Carter was the only driver to finish on the infield. Mathew Symons had trouble all night and failed to make the start of the final.

O’Keeffe started the night in brilliant style when he took the opening heat win. He led Smith and Van Duynhoven to the line. Sadler and Trewartha both finished on the infield. Heat 2 witnessed Turner speeding away with the win. He defeated Dillon and Horton in a dominating display. Ash Sinclair and Symons both finished on the infield with engine troubles.

Heat 3 saw the defending series champion take the win. Aranyosi led Carroll and Carter to the finish in heat 3. Symons’s dramas continued on the infield. Dale Sinclair took the final heat win of the night. Sadler and Horton completed the top 3. Van Duynhoven, Ash Sinclair and Hardess all watched the completion from the infield.

Attention now turns to the penultimate round of the 2011/2012 FGBMFI.org Formula 500 Stampede Series to be held next weekend at Horsham’s Blue Ribbon Raceway. Can O’Keeffe show the same form that netted him the state title victory last week or will Dale Sinclair win his 3rd stampede series A-Main this season?
