Jettco Triple Crown F500 Series Round 2 Nominations
24 Formula 500’s have nominated for Round 2 of the Jettco Triple Crown Series to be contested at Simpson Speedway this Saturday night April 14th. In a star studded line up the winner will walk away with $1000 for their troubles.
Jess Moulden is on cloud nine at the moment. Hot off her historic Australian Title Victory at Laang last weekend where she defeated 53 of the nations finest, Moulden will debut the A1 this weekend at Simpson.
Outgoing Australian Champion, Liam Williams took the win in the first round at Laang back in February and will head into this weekend looking for a consistent run. Jye O’Keeffe was in fine form last weekend but was involved in an accident taking him out of the A-Main after heading in as a favourite.
The Sinclair Brothers have had strong runs this season but have been troubled with motor dramas. Dale has picked up 2 feature wins in the stampede series and charged from 13th in the B-Main to finish in 4th at the Australian Title. Ash has picked up multiple podiums and will head in with confidence. Look for the Sinclair boys to be up the front.
A host of young guns have nominated and all are capable of picking up a win. Will Carroll was leading the final last weekend before spinning, he was able to speed his way back up to 7th. Mitch Whiting was challenging for a podium finish to eventually end up in 9th. Simon Craven picked up a heat race win and finished 6th in the A-Main. James Aranyosi finished runner up after leading the Australian Title and will head into this weekends event with confidence.
Mat Turner has been enjoying a career best season picking up many podium finishes and was looking for a strong run last weekend. Unfortunately Turner was knocked out of contention in his first heat and was playing catch up for the remainder of the weekend.
Drivers looking to sail away with the cash include James Waters, former Sprintcar competitor Rob Rankin, Brett Willsher, Lee Hardess, Tyler Carter, 5th place last weekend Grant Stansfield, Jesse Ellston, Josh Fort who rode out a wicked flip at Laang, Shane Van Duynhoven, AJ Blackstock, Adam Turner, Robert Trewartha and Jarryd Irving.
Racing will start at 6pm with a huge program in store. The format will be decided on the night and will be sure to please all drivers. The Victorian Formula 500 Association would like to thank Stephen Bell from Jettco Developments for his valued support of the series and also Laang Speedway for putting on a great racing surface.
