Last season saw some of the best racing of all time here in Victoria and preparations are almost finalised for the upcoming season which will see 24 events run over a 7 month period.
Victoria has seen some of the hottest young talent to come through the ranks over the years and the upcoming season is expected to see an influx of young drivers. The Stampede Series has always put on some awesome racing and this season will be no different with 8 rounds planned (1 round yet to be finalised). Leigh Van Ginneken from Lethal Race Wings has thrown his support behind the series as naming rights sponsor.
Darlington’s Mid Western Speedway will host the opening round of the Stampede series on November 10th. Warrnambool will host a day show the next day before Ballarat’s Redline Speedway host round 2 of the Stampede series on November 24th.
On December 1st Simpson host the next round of the series. 1 week later Laang Speedway will play host to the first ever Chocolate Cup with an exciting night planned. The second day show at Warrnambool will happen just 1 day later on the 9th Dec.
Warrnambool will host their 3rd race for the season when the annual Jack Willsher Cup is contested on December 22nd. After the busy Christmas/New Year Period, Portland is set to host their first race in some time when round 4 of the Stampede Series invades the tiny South West Bull ring on Jan 19th. Round 5 will be held at Hamilton on 9th Feb. On February 23rd Ballarat will host their second race of the season when round 6 of the Stampede series comes to town. Horsham’s Blue Ribbon Raceway will host the final round of the Stampede Series on April 27th.
Stephen Bell from Jettco Developments has once again been kind enough to sponsor the 3 round Jettco Triple Crown series. The first round of the series will be held at Laang Speedway on March 2nd. April 6th sees round 2 of the Jettco Triple Crown series contested at Simpson speedway. The following week sees a unique Teams Race format invade Laang Speedway on April 13th. The final round of the Jettco Triple Crown series will be battled at Darlington on May 4th. Darlington has a Rain out date of May 11th with Ballarat hosting a club day on May 26th.
