Following on from Part 1 of the 2012/2013 Vic F500 Calendar Preview, part 2 will look at the busy Christmas/New Year period along with the titles to be decided in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
Borderline Speedway will host the first State Title of the season when the South Australian Title is contested on December 1st.
With negotiations still on going for the traditional Christmas/New Year Series a naming rights sponsor is expected within the next few weeks. Round 1 of the series will roar into life on December 29th at Mt.Gambier. Along with the 3rd round of World Series Sprintcars this night promises to be a big night of winged warfare. Hamilton’s Western Speedway will play host to the 2nd round of the series on 30th Dec. The 410 metre South Western Victorian track has been a driver favourite for years and is expected to once again put on some close fast racing. After a day off on the 31st Dec, the Traditional New Years Day World Series/Formula 500 Series will once again take place at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium. After a huge night of racing Laang Speedway will host round 4 of the series on the 2nd Jan..
After another rest day the final 3 rounds will be run back to back. Darlington’s Mid Western Speedway will be contested on January 4th. The next night sees Simpson Speedway host Round 6 of the series. On the same night the Allstars 360 series will also contest their annual All Stars 5k to win Challenge ensuring that a massive night of open wheel racing is in store. Warrnambool will host the 7th and final round of the series on Sunday January 6th.
After the busy series is contested Darlington will host the 2013 Victorian Formula 500 Title. The March 9th and 10th dates will see teams from all over Victoria and South Australia converge on the tiny Mid Western Victorian Track for the 2 night extravaganza.
The final Title of the season will see the 50th Australian Formula 500 Title contested at Carrick Speedway in Tasmania. After the 49th instalment of the Title held at Laang Speedway this year, with lady racer Jessica Moulden creating history becoming the first Female to win the Australian Formula 500 Title, the March 28th, 29th and 30th fixture will see drivers, crew and race fans to come from all over Australia to contest the event.
