Some of Australia’s best talent will be on hand for the biggest event on the South Australian Formula 500 calendar is set to go when the mighty pocket rockets get set to do battle at Murray Machining and Sheds, Murray Bridge Speedway for the 2012 King of the Bridge.
Expected to go into the event as favourite will be Scott Dungey in his beautifully prepared, Rock Oil s10 PMP. Scott has had a superb season so far already taking out a feature event at Murray Bridge and running second in the other and has just become SA2 after a near faultless run at Mount Gambier last weekend.
Hoping to spoil the party will be Victorian young guns, Dale Sinclair and Jye O’Keeffe. Both drivers had excellent runs recently at the South Australian title in new machinery and will be looking to chalk up a win in their new cars. They are also joined by visiting Victorians Horton, Beasy, Christian and the return of Dylan Willsher to the venue who also had an impressive South Australian State title on his way to collecting forth.
Local talent looking to be crowned King include Angelo Karoussis after taking the victory in the Christmas Cup in Whyalla two weeks ago, while Ross Miller will be hoping to continue his recent good form at the venue as well as “The Rocket” Simon Reichelt who has his first run at the Bridge this year but will be on the pace straight away. They are also joined by local regulars, Brooks, Mercorella and Warren while rookies, Walker, Brown, Stevenson and Michelmore will have their first shot at being King.
Local returning drivers after some time off include Flint, Marks and Gower along with the surprise inclusion of Ken and Luke Bowey in the Clavell Family racing machines. Their inclusion is sure to attract considerable interest.
Joining forces with Formula 500's South Australia for this event is Tim Ingham's on the infield video program, who will be filming the event from multiple angles and producing a DVD.
Another inclusion to the list of supporters to Formula 500’ SA is Scotcher Race Fuels who have announced that they will support the category for the rest of the season with some special activities to be announced very shortly.
