F500 SA - Speedway Australia rookies ready to rock Bordertown

The Formula 500 rookies are ready to rock Bordertown this weekend then they head to Tolmer Speedway for the Speedway Australia Rookie of the year series round four.

Heading the charge will be Josh Michelmore in his super fast Simax Engineering s96 Hyper. Michelmore has shown a clean pair of heels so far in the championship by winning the first three rounds and has a host of impressive outings in non championship events this year.

Trying to chase him down will be “The Lady” Lisa Walker in the s4 Pace Chassis. Lisa currently sits in second position in the championship and will be looking to claim her first rookie of the year round victory.

Another young lady who has been impressive in the series and currently sits third is Latisha Helyar in her Captivation Gifts s93 Pace chassis. Helyar has consistently shown extra speed at every outing during the season so far and will look to consolidate her position in the top three.

Sitting equal third is Rory Stevenson in his Stevenson Mechanical s22 Racetec. Stevenson has been quietly going about his business and will also look to climb the standings this week, along with Shaun Brown in the s99 Stallard. Brown is recovering this week after inverting his machine last weekend at Murray Bridge in an accident where he suffered slight tissue damage in his left hand.

The rookies will have a tough field to compete with as a host of South Australian regulars will also head to Bordertown led by Brock Hallett, this week in his own s1 Stallard after taking victory in the Ken Willsher owned v5 Triple X Chassis last week at Murray Bridge. Hoping to spoil the party is home town hero, “The Bordertown Bandit” Brad Tink. Tink is also the president of the Bordertown speedway club and a win on home soil would be very important to him.

Other local regulars making the trip include Eve, Miller, Cates and the father and son duo of Keith and Adrian Flint who return to the Formula 500 ranks after spending some time this year in Lightning Sprints.
