Thomas Davies wins F500 31st annual Bunny Burrowes Memorial

Narrogin driver Thomas Davies has taken out the 31st running of the Perth TQ Car Club Bunny Burrowes Memorial for Formula 500s.
The event was held at Narrogin Speedway two hours south east of Perth with defending champion Matt Brown finishing runner up with state champion Andrew Priolo charging through the field to finish in third place after starting back in twelfth.

Thirty four cars were on hand for the 2013 running of the event including four drivers from Victoria. A great crowd turned out for the event that honours one of the founders of the Perth TQ Car Club George Bernard Burrowes or “Bunny” to his friends.

Davies win in the 2013 Bunny Burrowes Memorial was his first big win of his career and he had previously finished second in the event back in 2010.

Twelve heat races were contested across the day with Davies being the highest points scorer after registering two heat wins.

The B Main would be won by Craig Bottrell with Bronwyn Channing, Russell Taylor and Victorian Rob Trewartha all advancing into the A Main.

The early laps of the main event would be ran at a frantic pace with a pile up involving 2009 winner Steven Ellement and Jeremy Saffin occurring. Saffin and Ellement finished their races on the infield.

Victorian Stephen Bell charged through the field to finish just off the podium in fourth ahead of Shane Andersson, Cody Turrachio and Victorian Ash Sinclair who all had a great battle for the minor placings for the entire length of the feature race.

The Perth TQ Car Club would like to thank Peter & Brett Janssen from Janssen’s Transport Service along with all our other sponsors for their support of the event.
