Speedway Australia supports Rookie of the year series again!

Formula 500’s South Australia are very proud to announce that Speedway Australia will again support the Formula 500 rookie of the year series in season 2013 – 2014 under the Speedway Australia grass roots grant scheme.

In its inaugural year last season, the series was a huge success with eight drivers contesting the six round series which was won by Strathalbyn hot shot Josh Michelmore, followed closely by lady races, Lisa Walker and Latisha Helyar.

In season 2013/2014, the series will be again contested over six rounds taking in almost every speedway in South Australia including Speedway City for the first time.

The ladies will be represented again with Mount Gambier local Steph Munn getting behind the wheel of a Formula 500, while Jason Baxter, Jeremy Mills and Jason Norris will also be contenders with at least six drivers registering interest in the series.

Interest from interstate competitors is also encouraged.

2013 – 2014 speedway Australia Rookie of the year series dates –

Round 1 - October 19 Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway
Round 2 - December 14 Tolmer Speedway, Bordertown
Round 3 – January 10 Speedway City, Virginia
