This weekend will see the pocket rocket Formula 500’s return to one of the fastest tracks in Australia, Manjimup Speedway, this time for the second round of the 2013/14 West Coast Series.

Nineteen drivers have nominated their machines for competitive action this weekend and all are looking forward to the challenges that Manjimup brings.

After the opening round of the series at Geraldton Speedway last weekend, current State Champion Andrew Priolo will start as favorite for the event and he will be looking to increase his winning streak.

In contrasting fortunes, Jason Priolo will be looking to bounce back from his disastrous opening round at Geraldton, with engine issues hampering his progress. The Multi Scaffold Racing team has worked hard during the week and swapped engines, and Jason, along with team mate Brock Nanovich, will be looking for some strong results at Manjimup.

Matt Brown also had issues at Geraldton and will look to improve his results this weekend.

Steven Ellement will be another one to watch after a strong performance in the opening round which saw him claim the pole dash, beating all comers, and then finishing second to Priolo in the feature race.

Third place getter at Geraldton, Thomas Davies, will be looking to finish strongly once more, while Troy Johnson and Todd Broadwood are searching to improve on their previous round finishes and get onto the podium come feature time.

Chris Dymock and Matt Higgs are two drivers who missed the opening round, but both have proven on previous occasions that they are more than capable of strong finishes and cannot be counted out when it comes to feature time.
