The new 2013/14 Formula 500 racing season has greeted the Broadwood Family Racing team with a mixed bag of results, following the opening two rounds of the West Coast Series at Geraldton and Manjimup Speedways over the past two weekends.
November 9 saw the first laps turned in anger at Geraldton. The opening heat race netted a sixth place, whilst some hasty work on the car before heat two led to a DNF. The team picked up a few places in heat three, which set the starting order for the 25 lap feature.
Feature time was the highlight of the night. The car was on a rail, making moves inside and out on a typically demanding Geraldton track as we picked up a number of spots to claim sixth place at the chequers.

The team then backed up this past weekend for round two at Manjimup Speedway on November 16. Fuel troubles were the order of the night, the less said about the night the better, the upside being the cause of the troubles being established.
Coming up:
The team now steps up its program for the Australian Title preparations with our first of many trips to the Perth Motorplex on December 7. Following that, it’s round three of the West Coast Series at Narrogin Speedway on December 16.
