Formula 500's SA -Karoussis captures the Christmas Cup

The Whyalla wizard, Angelo Karoussis powered his Able Transport s27 Stallard to victory in the MJM Abrasive Blasting, Formula 500 Christmas Cup at Speedway City last Saturday night in front of a large crowd and stellar field. Karoussis had a successful night after claiming a heat win which set him up from the pole for the feature where he was never headed.

Young Victorian Speedster, Tyler Beasy in the McInerney Freight v10 also had a big night out after claiming his first ever heat win on the way to a front row start for the feature which produced a second place finish.

While "Mr Consistant" Josh Michelmore had a smooth run through the heats to put himself from three in the feature before claiming yet another podium finish.

Unlike his first two trips to South Australia this year, "The King" Dylan Willsher had a troubled night which started in the very first corner of the night, when Lisa Walker who had started off pole, looped the Action line marking s46 Stallard infront of the field. The resulting in Willsher backing into the wall, causing major damage to the DW Motorcycle repairs Triple x v27. The damage would see Willsher run from the rear of(For) the feature, where he made ground quickly before sheering an inside left rear wheel hub, halting his charge.

Best placed rookie was Steven Van Ginneken, in The Gallery Nightclub, Dutchman Performance v5, who had a trouble free run on his way to seventh in the feature. Whilst promising Mount Gambier resident Steph Munn unfortunately failed to finish but gained important experience.

The Formula 500's next run will be on December 7 at Murray Bridge Speedway for the all important running of the King of the Bridge.

If you can't make it to the track, don't forget to be kept updated on the Formula 500's South Australia face book site.
