The Victorian Speedweek Series is regarded as one of the most gruelling Formula 500 events on the 2013-14 season, but it’s one event that Cody Maroske is very excited to announce that he’s going to be a part of.
Maroske, who drives the Qld # 22 Woodeson Excavations supported Hyper, is currently enjoying an impressive debut season in Formula 500s, and strongly believes that contesting the Victorian Speedweek Series is only going to help further his development.
“I can’t wait to be a part of the Speedweek Series and get the opportunity to race against some of the country’s toughest competitors,” Maroske enthused. “I’m not heading down there to make up the numbers; I want to be a front running contender. I know that I have the equipment and team support behind me, so it’s all going to be up to me to be as consistent as possible and stay out of trouble.”
Despite the fact that Maroske hasn’t competed at any of the tracks on the Victorian Speedweek Series schedule isn’t fazing him one bit.
“I have done a lot of travelling since stepping into Formula 500s late last season, and I also did a lot of travelling back when I ran Junior Sedans and Microsprints,” he explained. “I’m not worried about visiting new tracks; it’s exactly the opposite. I enjoy the challenge of turning up to a new track and having to find your feet, and then improving throughout the night.”

In other Maroske news, he last weekend finished the third round of the Tyrepower 600 Series at Archerfield Speedway in fifth. The previous weekend he ran fourth at Rockhampton Speedway. In the latter event, he was sent rear of field on the opening lap for allegedly jumping the start from the third row, but he managed to fight his way back from the rear (position 20) to salvage a respectable result.
Maroske will next be in action this Saturday night (November 30) at Gilgandra Speedway for the NSW Title, and then the following Saturday night (December 7), he will travel to Kingaroy Speedway for the fourth round of the Tyrepower 600 Series.
Special thanks must go to Garry and Vicki Maroske and Jake Smith for all of their help and support.
Maroske Motorsport is proudly supported in the 2013-14 season by the following organisations Woodeson Excavations, Beenleigh Mufflers and Brakes, Redback Exhausts, Penrite Oil, Lethal Race Wings, and Shell Shock
