Once again the Formula 500 division leads the nomination numbers for this weekends show at the Perth Motorplex. With no less than thirty seven nominations, there are no other divisions that have as many drivers competing this weekend, and when you scan through the list and see how many regular drivers are missing, one can tell that the upcoming Australian Title is going to be massive.
This weekend’s nomination list will be spearheaded by the Priolo boys Andrew and Jason. With the absence of last round winner and track championship leader Steven Ellement due to work commitments, Andrew, who won the opening round, and Jason, who finished second in the last round, will both be looking to continue their form leading into the Australian Title.
Troy Johnson and Matt Brown have both also nominated, with both claiming a third place in features so far this season. Both are hungry to grab that first place prize and have the cars and skill to do so; they just need a little bit of luck to go their way.
Glenn Carstairs and Adrian Fogliani are two of only eight drivers to have completed the distance in both feature races held at the Motorplex this season and sit in fourth and fifth respectively in the championships. The other drivers to have completed both are Ellement, Jason Priolo, Johnson, Trystan Caley, Chanelle Condren and Brooke-louise Sharpe and are benefiting in the points, sitting within the top fourteen drivers in the Championship.
The best looking drivers out there, being Chanelle Condren, Bronwyn Channing and Brooke-louise Sharpe, have all proven that they are capable of beating the boys and it would certainly be a crowd pleasing finish should one of them race to a podium finish.
Add in to the field an exciting mix of drivers including Thomas Davies, Matt Higgs and Brendon Condren to just name a few, and we are in for one exciting show of pocket rocket action.
