Despite some misfortune in the recent race meetings, Cody Maroske is pleased with the form he’s carrying into the Speedweek Formula 500 Series.
After a third place finish in the NSW Title at Gilgandra Speedway and also being a front runner on the domestic scene, Maroske is confident of building on that form when he heads down to Victoria and South Australia for the Speedweek Series, which begins on December 28 at Borderline Speedway (SA).
“I’m excited about heading down south, to tackle the Speedweek Series and taking on some of the country’s best on some unfamiliar tracks,” the 20 year old expressed. “The Speedweek Series is going to be all about consistency, and I feel that I’ve been quite consistent so far this season, and hopefully I’m able to continue it down there.”
Similar to when he won the North Queensland Title earlier this season, the Qld # 22 Woodeson Excavations supported Hyper driver was surprised by his NSW Title result.
“To be honest, I wasn’t overly confident heading into the feature race, and was aiming for a top-five finish,” Maroske said, who had qualified for the NSW Title deciding feature race out of position two. “Once the race got underway, my confidence crew because I was able to stay with the front contenders, so to come away with a podium finish was a fantastic result, and it was a huge boost for my confidence.”
