Formula 500 West Coast Series returns to Geraldton!

The Racemate West Coast Series will this weekend return to Geraldton for round six of the eight round West Coast Series.

A good field of thirteen cars have nominated to make the journey and as always it is anyone's guess as to who will take the win come feature time.

Leading the charge has to be current state champion Andrew Priolo. He is leading the series with 440 points, 63 points ahead of his nearest rival and has claimed two round wins in his MAC Projects machine. He will be looking to stamp his authority on the opposition in the lead up to the Australian Title and expand his points lead heading into the final rounds double header at the PerthMotorplex the weekend after.

Currently sitting in second place in the Racemate West Coast Series is Troy Johnson on 377 points. Although he hasn't yet claimed a round win, his consistency has been rewarded after grabbing three second place finishes in a row. Johnson is improving with every race meeting and has grabbed a win at the Perth Motorplex so will be putting pressure on the other competitors to claim the win this Saturday night.

Thomas Davies is currently third on 374 points, just three behind Johnson and will be looking to bridge that gap this weekend. Davies has shown that he is always fast and with a little luck should figure prominently.

The Multi Scaffold Racing Team of Jason Priolo and Brock Nanovich sit in fourth and sixth place respectively in the championship and both will want to claim a good finishing position and build their confidence going into the title.

Trystan Caley in eighth and David Sinagra in ninth are the other two drivers sitting in the top ten in points who have nominated for this weekend and both will be looking to improve their standings and grab a good finish.

Other drivers to nominate for this weekend include Aaron Fullgrabe who sits twelfth in the championship, Todd Broadwood in 14th, Adrian Tyler in 23rd and Tegan Broadwood 34th in the standings that have seen 38 drivers compete in the series so far.

Also in the field are two drivers joining for the first time this season; Brendon Marshman and Brendon Wright. These two guys will be looking to get some laps under their belt and test themselves against some of the best in Western Australia.

The stage is set, the drivers are ready and this weekend is set to be a cracker!
