This weekend will see the Formula 500's competing at the Perth Motorplex in a two night show which will be the last official hitout for the division before the Washpod Australian Championship on the 14th and 15th of March.

A huge field of forty four nominations has been received, the biggest field of the season. It includes no less than four interstate visitors who are using the show as a rundown and to become familiar with the high banks of the Perth Motorplex.

Heading the interstate invasion for this weekend is the Australian Champion Marcus Kelly. Coming all the way from Tasmania, Kelly will stop at nothing to keep his title and is a good chance of doing so.
Also coming from Tasmania is Kristian Kelly, while Victorians Jye O'Keeffe and Dylan Willsher will also be in the field as the trio attempt to tame their beasts around the 'plex.

Heading the local charge is last start winner Thomas Davies (who won at Geraldton last weekend) and Mark House, who won the last feature at the Motorplex. Both will be looking to add another win to their collection to give them the best possible lead in to the all important title.

Also looking for some solid results will be Track Championship leader Troy Johnson as well as Andrew Priolo, Jason Priolo and Brock Nanovich who all sit inside the top five.

Adding some extra spice to this weekend is the fact that it doubles as the final two rounds of the Racemate West Coast Series. Currently being led by Andrew Priolo, Thomas Davies is right within striking distance and both will be looking to solidify their points to get the best possible outcome.

That being said, there is a whole host of other drivers who are close to the top in both championships, as well as those who want to hit a purple patch of form right at the important time of season.

The stage is set, the drivers are ready, the fans are prepared.... Lets get excited!
