Last Saturday night at the Perth Motorplex Andrew Priolo claimed yet another win for the season, making it his second for the season at the Perth Motorplex and his seventh podium finish out of eleven races; in the process extending his points lead in the Perth Motorplex Track Championship.
Priolo won his opening heat and came fourth in the other before claiming the win in the feature by 2.314 seconds. He was followed home by Craig Bottrell who was guest driving the #99 machine instead of his regular #15, and had a good night after claiming a win and a third place in his heats.
Third place in the feature went to Brendon Condren who did a great job after winning a heat and finishing sixth in the other to then drive a consistent race and bring it home in third, with the results being both Condren and Bottrell's first podium result at the Perth Motorplex this season, a just reward after all the effort they have put in this year.
Thomas Davies came home fourth in the feature which will help his Championship points, while he was followed home by Matt Higgs in a credible fifth place. Luke Nardini, Brock Nanovich, Jason Priolo, Bronwyn Channing and Adrian Fogliani rounded out the top ten finishers.
Troy Johnson, who was holding down second place in the championship before last weekends round, was unable to make the show after engine dramas, meaning that he has been overtaken in the overall standings.
The Formulas will hit the Perth Motorplex this weekend for the final two nights of action for the season. Saturday night will be the General Firecracker night while Sunday will be the Grand Finale, so stay tuned for all the latest details!
