For the fourth time in the 2013-14 season, Ryan Skennar romped to a Tyrepower Micro 600 Super Series round victory.

In what was the 11th and penultimate round of the Tyrepower Micro 600 Super Series, held last Saturday night at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway, Skennar proved too good for his rivals throughout the feature race and in the process consolidated his lead in the Tyrepower Micro 600 Super Series point standings.

After qualifying on pole position in the 12-lap feature race, Skennar blasted to the lead from the outset. Once out in front, he was able to dictate the pace through to the fall of the chequered flag. Despite the best efforts of his closest rivals, Kristin Brown and Cody Maroske, they were unable to deny Skennar of a comfortable win.

Brown and Maroske joined Skennar on the podium. All three drivers were pleased with their efforts throughout the night. However, the biggest smile was from Skennar, who now has one hand on the series trophy heading into the 12th and final round later this month.

Behind the podium finishers in fourth was Brooke Wanless, who drove impressively to finish ahead of the remaining finishers Scott Farmer, Brenton Finney, Royce Harvey and Adrian Farrell.

In the heat-race action, wins were claimed by Kristin Brown, Skennar and Maroske. Apart from the strong performances of the aforementioned drivers, Wanless and Harvey also recorded strong results in their heat races.

The hard luck story of the night was Bryn Upshall. A regular top-five contender, he crashed out of the third and final heat race after contact with Scott Farmer as they entered turn three, and consequently Upshall was unable to start the feature race due to the damage sustained in the crash.

The 12th and final round of the Tyrepower Micro 600 Super Series will be again held at Archerfield Speedway on Saturday night, May 31.
