Cody Turrachio last Saturday made it two features from two starts as he raced away to claim the win in the final PTQCC Catalyst Communication Rigging Services Pty Ltd Formula 500 series event.
Turrachio had previously won the Formula 500 Open Championships at Kellerberrin Speedway on the 30th of August and then joined the field again at Narrogin on the weekend where he continued to dominate.
In fact, so dominant was Turrachio that he won every event on the day, claiming the opening heat win from the rear, grabbing the win in the second after starting near the front, then in the third, after starting at the rear courtesy of being high points scorer, he again came through the field and claimed the win.
Of course this was the closest contested race of the day as local Narrogin driver Greg Nicholas led the race for all but the final turn as Turrachio chased him down and made the pass in the final corner on the last lap of the race.
Turrachio then stormed away in the feature to claim a convincing win and stamp his authority, sending a clear message to the rest of the drivers about to compete in the summer season.
Other local drivers Luke and Jamie Nardini also had solid days, grabbing a number of good finishes that included both recording a podium in the feature race.
Long time Formula 500 pilot Brett Janssen also had a good day, driving a ten year old car to several podium finishes. He will be looking forward to the upcoming summer season as he teams up with fellow driver Shane Andersson, with the duo getting some exciting new gear for their campaigns.
Jayden Higgs had another consistent day, never finishing outside of the top five, while Bill Richards, Tegan Broadwood and Brendan Wright continued to battle it out through each event.
Saturdays race meeting brings the PTQCC season to a close and what a season it has been, with good fields of drivers at all events. Also a huge thanks to the division sponsor Catalyst Communication Rigging Services Pty Ltd.
