Perth TQ Car Club Awards

Last night the Perth TQ Car Club held their annual awards night at the Glen Iris Bar & Restaurant in Jandakot.

It was a well attended night and all present had a good time as they celebrated the achievements of the 2014 season.

The opening awards for the Formula 500's were the season heat race points which saw Brett Janssen and Tom Hooper as popular joint winners, tied on 361 points. Jayden Higgs was second while Bill Richards claimed the third place trophy.

The feature race points were then taken out by Hooper, who doubled his nearest rivals points. Janssen claimed second while Higgs was third.

The Drivers Driver award went to Brett Janssen while he also claimed the Keenquip Encouragement Award for battling to keep his car on track at every meeting but also helping anyone else who needed it.

Tegan Broadwood was the next to receive an award as she claimed the Most Improved trophy, evidence of how she grew as a driver across the season.

The night was rounded out by the veteran Bill Richards receiving a Dedication Award, for his services to the club. He got a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance and was quite clearly overcome with emotion as he addressed the crowd.

Now that the 2014 season is over, focus now shifts to 2015 with the first announcement being the date of the Bunny Burrowes Memorial. The time honored event will be held on the 25th of April at Narrogin Speedway and is already receiving interest from Eastern States drivers.

See you all next season!!
