Victorian Formula 500 National Title Summary

Well, it was the weekend that was. 11 Victorian drivers - Ben McLeod, Brooke Buckingham, Chris Bellman, Dale Sinclair, Dylan Willsher, Jack Bell, Jesse Ellston, Josh Buckingham, Leigh VanGinneken, Steven Horton, Trevor Cotterill - crews, family, cheer squads and the like ventured to Rockhampton Speedway (some 2,000 klms) last weekend for the 2015 Australian Formula 500 Title.
With a total field of 46 nominations we had our work cut out for us. But doing what we do well, it was a Victorian who showed the way. 9 of the 11 cars made it into the A Main and lo and behold our V27 Dylan Willsher took out the title, with V91 Steven Horton in 2nd place and V31 Chris Bellman in 5th.
So congratulations to Dylan, Steven, Chris and all our drivers for a magnificent effort.
Dylan also won $1,000 for the fastest lap time in the 2nd round of heats. (If you weren't already a legend Dylan, you most definitely are now).
The Victorians did us proud. Am I bragging. Hell yer, why not. It is a massive achievement for ALL who made the journey.
The Victorian Formula 500 Association would like to thank the Curtis Coast Formula 500 club, Don & Julie McLeod from Rocky Resort for the great hospitality, and all the many officials for their hard work.
