Formula 500's WA - Another Big Field for the Muster!
With the festive season almost done and dusted, the Formula 500's will bring in the New Year with a bang, with no less that twenty six drivers nominated for the annual Muster event at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night, the 2nd of January, 2016!
There are a number of drivers who go into this event with top billing, with Matt Brown and Troy Johnson just two of the names who could take out this Saturdays feature event. Brown won a rip snorting feature race last weekend, stealing the win from Johnson in the closing laps to record his first feature victory at the Motorplex this season. After up ending the familiar #4 machine the week before, Brown bounced back in brilliant form and was a popular victor.
Of course Troy 'Showtime' Johnson will be out for revenge and after finishing the four events so far at the Motorplex in either first or second place and leading the Motorplex Championship so far, plus going into this event as the defending champion, he will be fired up.
Tom Hooper has been knocking on the door of a feature win so far at the Motorplex this season with two thirds and a second so far, so he is another who will be keen for a strong showing, while Luke Nardini drove a great race recently to record a fine third place, a result he will be keen to repeat or even better this Saturday night. The duo hold second and third respectively in the Motorplex points and would love to narrow the gap on Johnson this weekend.
Jamie Nardini and Cameron McKenzie have been consistent so far this season and hold down fourth and fifth respectively in the championship, so they too will be hopeful of pulling together some strong points while other drivers including Chris Dymock, Shane Andersson, Steven Ellement and Jeff Ross have also been consistently towards the pointy end of the field, with all a threat this Saturday night.
With twenty six nominations received and all drivers pumped after an exciting festive season, the Muster will certainly bring in the New Year with a bang once again! See you all trackside!
